Eggless Whole Wheat Chocolate Waffles |
Ingredients:
Dry Ingredients:
- Whole Wheat flour - 1 1/2 cup
- Cocoa Powder - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1/4 cup (I used Organic demerara sugar)
- Baking powder - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Milk, warmed- 1 2/3 cup
- Olive Oil - 1/4 cup (Melted Butter can also be used)
- Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- Butter - 1 tbsp (for toasting)
- Powdered Sugar - as needed (Optional)
- Mix the dry ingredients in a wide bowl
- In another bowl, add the wet ingredients and mix well
- Add the wet mixture into the flour mix and gently fold it so that it gets mixed (Dont over mix it)
- The batter consistency will not be too thick; if needed add 1-2 tbsp of water / milk and mix
- Heat the waffle iron / pan (I used mini waffle pan) and grease it with butter
- Pour the prepared batter into it and allow to cook in medium heat
- Since I was using waffle pan, I flipped it over to the other side once the top side gets cooked
- Once both the sides get cooked, transfer it to the serving plate
- If needed sprinkle powdered sugar over the waffles; Serve hot with Maple syrup/ Honey / fruits
