Eggless Whole Wheat Chocolate Waffles

Ingredients:

Dry Ingredients:

  • Whole Wheat flour - 1 1/2 cup
  • Cocoa Powder 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup (I used Organic demerara sugar)
  • Baking powder - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
Wet Ingredients:
  • Milk, warmed- 1 2/3 cup
  • Olive Oil - 1/4 cup (Melted Butter can also be used)
  • Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
 Other Ingredients:
  •  Butter - 1 tbsp (for toasting)
  • Powdered Sugar - as needed (Optional)
Method:
  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a wide bowl
  2. In another bowl, add the wet ingredients and mix well
  3. Add the wet mixture into the flour mix and gently fold it so that it gets mixed (Dont over mix it)
  4. The batter consistency will not be too thick; if needed add 1-2 tbsp of water / milk and mix
  5. Heat the waffle iron / pan (I used mini waffle pan) and grease it with butter
  6. Pour the prepared batter into it and allow to cook in medium heat
  7. Since I was using waffle pan, I flipped it over to the other side once the top side gets cooked
  8. Once both the sides get cooked, transfer it to the serving plate
  9. If needed sprinkle powdered sugar over the waffles; Serve hot with Maple syrup/ Honey / fruits
