Chocolate bark with sprinkles is a very easy and quick holiday treat. Chocolate bark is actually a sheet of chocolate covered with nuts and dry fruits or even candies.
Festive Treats!!! |
If we are not having any cooking chocolate, we can just use our regular chocolate chips. There are lot of variations for the chocolate bark; We can use either dark chocolate or milk chocolate or even white chocolate to make these.
Also the toppings are purely of our choice. We can use chopped nuts, dry fruits, seeds, candied fruits, crushed candy canes, coconut, candies, etc. as toppings.
During this winter break, kids will enjoy making these quick treats. I try to avoid the artificial dyes so I used the sprinkles coloured with natural ingredients.
Ingredients:
Method:
Melting the chocolate chips:
- Microwave: Take the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat in microwave for 30 secs. Stir well and again heat up in 15 secs interval until the chocolate chips get melted.
- Stove top: Boil water in a sauce pan, then keep it simmer and place a heat resistant bowl over it. The bowl should not touch water. Add the chocolate chips into the dry bowl, Keep the pot over low heat and stir the chocolate with a spoon/ spatula until silky smooth
Making the chocolate bark:
- Spread out the melted chocolate onto a parchment paper lined plate / cookie sheet
- Spread it out evenly to form a thin sheet of chocolate
- Sprinkle the coloured sprinkles onto the chocolate
- If we are using big sized sprinkles, gently press down onto the chocolate
- Place it in the freezer for about 15 mins or in the refrigerator until it gets firmed up
- Once it becomes firm, break it up and enjoy:)
- Store it in the refrigerator and enjoy!
