Dry Fruits and Nuts Laddoo is a healthy sugar-free, and nutrient dense snack for kids. Its not only healthy, its tasty and very easy to make.
Dry Fruits & Nuts Laddoo
If we are having unsalted roasted nuts in hand, we can make this within 10-15 mins. These are perfect for the mid-morning snacks for the kids an also can go well in their lunch box.
We can add any of our favourite nuts into it and its sure a way to make kids eat these healthy foods. We can alter the ingredients according to our taste, but dates / figs are the must for getting the right consistency. We can use either roasted nuts or the unroasted ones.
Ingredients:
- Figs - 1 cup (I used around 9-10 dried whole Organic, unsulphured figs)
- Dates - 1 cup (I used around 20 Organic dates)
- Raisins - 2 Tbsp
- Almonds - 1/4 cup
- Cashews - 1/4 cup
- Pistachios - 1/4 cup
- Walnuts - 1/4 cup
- White sesame seeds- 2 Tbsp
We can also use any dry fruits & nuts - dried apricot, peanuts, sunflower seeds, black sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, dry coconut
- If we are using roasted nuts, we can use them directly. Dry roast the nuts and seeds separately until they turn aromatic. We can also toast them in microwave for 1-2 mins. For almonds, I had blanched them in hot water, peeled and then toasted in microwave. But its not necessary. If we want to add the unroasted nuts we can add as such too.
- In a blender add the roughly chopped figs, I used around 9-10 dried whole Organic, unsulphured figs
- Add roughly chopped dates and raisins
- Add pistachios
- Pulse for few seconds until they grind coarsely
- Then add the Walnuts
- Add cashews and almonds
- Pulse them (don't grind continuously) until they ground coarsely and got mixed together
- Finally add the sesame seeds and just pulse for a second
- Transfer the mixture into a bowl
- Roll into balls and enjoy!!
- It can be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to a month, if handled properly
- If we want them little fancy, we can roll the balls on powdered dry coconut or sesame seeds :)
- If we are making for small kids and dont want to have the pieces of nuts, we can grind the nuts into a coarse powder and them add them to the ground dates & figs to make smooth laddoos.
nice looking sites and great work. Pretty nice information. it has a better understanding. thanks for spending time on it.
