Urad Dhal Vada - In Paniyaram Pan |
- Whole Urad Dhal - 1 cup
- Rice - 1 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Water - as required
- Pepper - 1 tbsp (adjust as per taste)
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Green chilly, chopped - 1-2 nos (Optional)
- Oil - for roasting
- Wash and soak Urad dhal and rice for atleast 1 hour
- Drain the water and grind in wet grinder to a smooth fluffy batter without adding water. (If needed sprinkle some water while grinding)
- Take the batter in a bowl, add pepper, green chillies, Cumin seeds and required salt; mix well
- Heat Paniyaram pan, add few drops of oil in each hole
- Once the pan becomes hot, add a spoon of batter into each hole
- Reduce the flame to medium and cover the pan with lid; allow to cook for 1-2 mins (If needed, we can sprinkle few drops of oil over the batter)
- Then flip it over and allow to cook the other side without covering with lid
- Once its done, remove from the pan and repeat the same for the remaining batter
- Serve hot with Sambar and chutney!
